Cipla, India
Pharmaceutical name:
Tadalafil
The primary component of Tadacip is Tadalafil, which serves as an effective and selective inhibitor of the enzyme PDE5. The relaxation of smooth muscles in the cavernous body is crucial for achieving an erection. This relaxation is triggered by acetylcholine, nitrogen oxide (NO), and other physiological substances. Nitrogen oxide is emitted by non-adrenergic neurons during sexual arousal. When released, NO activates the enzyme guanylate cyclase, which leads to the production of cyclic GMP. Cyclic GMP interacts with muscular proteins in the cavernous body, resulting in their relaxation. This relaxation enhances blood flow to the male genitalia. Tadacip functions by inhibiting the activity of PDE5, thereby increasing the levels of cGMP. PDE5 is the enzyme responsible for breaking down Tadalafil, which in turn facilitates satisfactory erections for sexual intercourse.
Tadacip should be used cautiously in patients taking alpha-blockers such as Doxazosin, as the combination of Cialis with these medications may cause a significant drop in blood pressure in certain individuals.
Tadacip is not recommended for use by women or individuals under 18 years of age. It is generally not expected to pose risks to pregnant women or their unborn children. However, it is advisable for pregnant women or those planning to conceive to consult a healthcare professional. It remains uncertain whether Tadalafil could harm a breastfeeding infant or if it can be transmitted through breast milk.
Do not combine Tadacip with alcohol, as this may lead to side effects such as hypotension and dizziness. Additionally, it is important to recognize that this medication does not provide protection against sexually transmitted infections.
Before starting Tadalafil, consult your healthcare provider if you have any of the following medical conditions: heart diseases, history of heart attacks, recent strokes, chest pain, high or low blood pressure, liver diseases, kidney diseases, anemia, stomach ulcers, or if you are advised against sexual activity for health reasons.
Inform your doctor of any existing health issues. Tadalafil should be prescribed with great caution to patients who have: anatomical deformities of the penis; gastrointestinal infections; blood disorders; priapism or a history of priapism; blood conditions like leukemia; multiple myeloma; retinitis pigmentosa.
Possible side effects include headache, facial flushing, and upset stomach.
Less common side effects that might occur include temporary alterations in color vision (such as difficulty distinguishing between blue and green objects or experiencing a blue tint), increased sensitivity to light, or blurred vision.
